Anne G. Spivey

FRANKLIN—Anne Griffis Spivey, 85, passed away on July 12, 2014, at the Dunlop House in Colonial Heights. Mrs. Spivey was born in Smithfield to the late Ethel Winder and Frederick Gordon Griffis, and was predeceased by two brothers, Milton and Perry Griffis.

She was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church.

A beloved and devoted wife and mother, she leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 66 years, J.D. Spivey; one daughter, Kay S. Walsh (Michael) of Harrisonburg; two sons, Andrew G. “Drew” Spivey of North Prince George, and Larry D. Spivey (Margaret) of Colonial Heights; five grandchildren, Davis Walsh (Kristen), Katie Walsh, Kelly Anne Holemon (James), Allison and Whit Spivey; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Walsh and Christian Spivey.

The graveside service will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, in the Colosse Cemetery, Windsor, with the Rev. Randy Wright officiating.
