PORTSMOUTH—Mr. Vernon P. Mayfield, 82, of Allard Road, Portsmouth, died on June 26, 2014.

The homegoing service will take place on Thursday, July 3, at 2 p.m., in St. Paul United Church of Christ, 28301 Handsom Road, Handsom. The pastor, the Rev. J.J. Ferguson, will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
