Franklin—William Cook Britt, 85, passed away on June 13, 2014, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. William was a son of the late Jimmie Guy and Ruth Cook Britt, and was also predeceased by a sister, Rae Britt Sumner; and three brothers-in-law, William T. Rhodes, James Lee and J.T. Sumner.

William had retired as a farmer, and was a former driver with Parker Oil Company and a member of Sunbeam Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Fowler Britt; two sisters, Janie Britt Rhodes and Joyce Britt Lee; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Hoyle Green officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home, and suggests memorial donations be made to Sunbeam Baptist Church, 31226 Sunbeam Rd., Franklin, VA. 23851.
