FHS athletes compete in state championships

RADFORD—Members of the Franklin High School boys track team performed very well at the VHSL State Outdoor Track Championship on Saturday at Radford University.
The results are as follows: Quayshaun Jefferson 5th in the 400-meter Run (51.47-Personal Best); Latrell Lane 5th in the 100-meter Dash (11.52); Marcus Stephens-State Champion in the 100 (11.32); JaVonte Baker state runner-up in the 200-meter Dash (23.17); Marcus Stephens State Champion in the 200 (22.95): 4X100 Relay Team — same athletes as listed — were state runner-up (43.55).
Stephens set school record running 11.09 secs in the preliminaries of the 100 and scored the 2nd highest number of points in the boys 1A Division.
