To the Editor:

WOW, it is already June and the biggest party of the year is right around the corner…. Yep, I am talking about the 34th annual Franklin-Southampton County Fair. Four fun-filled days in August. The dates of the fair this year are Aug. 13-16.

The board of directors has been busy working with food vendors, arts and crafts vendors and commercial vendors to participate in the fair.

We have a fantastic line up of entertainment this year including Tyler Farr and Chase Rice, just to name a few, and the always popular Queens contest along with the Little Miss contest and, of course, the talent show. If you are interested in participating in the Queens contest or if you have a child that would like to participate in the Little Miss contest please contact Janet Joyner (334-2171) or Renee Wrenn (653-7983). If you are interested in the talent show, please contact Cecil Edwards (613-9722).

Inners Shows will be back this year with all their rides and games for our Midway. The Fair board tries to make each year of the fair better than the last, and this year is not an exception. Mark your calendars for Aug. 13-16 for the Franklin-Southampton County Fair. See you at the Fair!
