STUART—Mr. Ronald “Stu” Lee Gay Jr., 30, formerly of Southampton County, passed away at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 23, 2014.

He was born in Suffolk on Sept. 2, 1983, to Monet Wood and Ronald Gay Sr., both of Stuart.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jason Douglas Stiller.

He had worked as a carpenter.

“Stu” was a loving and devoted husband, daddy, son, brother, uncle and friend. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. We love you and know you will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to his parents, “Stu” is survived by his wife, Desra Ann Black Gay of the home; three children, Faith Marie Gay, Hannah Leigh Gay and Ronald Lee Gay III, all of the home; a brother, Douglas Edward Stiller of Stuart; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jessica Lynn Dunkley and husband, Scott, of Martinsville, and Penny Leigh Raiford and husband, Casey, of Courtland; and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial will take place on Saturday, May 31, at 3 p.m. in Courtland Baptist Church with Pastor Thomas Speight.

The family is receiving friends at their home in Stuart.
