FRANKLIN—Mrs. Beatrice “Bea” Hunter of Cameron Street, departed this earthly life to claim her eternal rest on May 24, 2014, while a patient in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

The Isle of Wight County native was born June 20, 1924, to Elnora and Jim Boone.

Mrs. Hunter was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. and retired from Birdsong Peanut Company after many years of service.

She attended The Oak Street Senior Citizens until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Johnnie Hunter.

“Bea” as she was known by her family and friends, will always be remembered by one daughter, Catherine “Kitty” Woodard (C.B); one son, Herbert Hunter, and his longtime companion, Vera; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many cousins.

The homegoing service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1071 Carrsville Highway, Franklin, with the assistant pastor, the Rev. D.A. Manley, delivering the message of comfort; the Rev. Alfred D. Brown Sr. is pastor. The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by William M. Johnson and Sons Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
