COURTLAND—Miss Ashley Nicole Barnes, 29, of Shady Brook Trail, Courtland, suddenly departed this life on May 24, 2014, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Franklin native was born on Dec. 2, 1984, to Deaconess Jackie A. and Deacon Ronald W. Barnes. She was the paternal granddaughter of the late Floyd Barnes Sr.

Ashley graduated from Southampton High School with the class of 2004. Upon high school graduation, she enrolled into the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute where she earned an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts in 2006. She was a member of Vision International Ministries.

Ashley’s memory will be cherished forever by her parents, Jackie and Ronald Barnes; one sister, Ronette B. Barnes; her maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Charlie Ashburn; paternal grandmother, Mary V. Barnes; aunts, Phyllis Grant, Tyloria Ashburn, Gloria Butler, Brenda Barnes, Lonice Barnes and Farris Barnes; uncles, Charlie Ashburn Jr. (Raystine), Phillip Barnes and Kim Barnes; great-aunts, great-uncles; two nieces; one nephew; and many cousins.

A celebration of life will take place at noon on Saturday, May 31, in First Baptist Church, 318 Hall St., Franklin, with the Rev. Cory Benson delivering the message of comfort; the Rev. D.S. Riddick Jr. is pastor. On the day of the service, her remains will be in the church for viewing by 10 a.m.

The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by William M. Johnson and Sons Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
