NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE—Raymond N. Burgess, 86, originally from Courtland, Virginia, died on May 7, 2014.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beth; sons Ray (Gail), Barry (Dee) of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Rob “Chip” (Martha) of Shreveport, Louisiana; sisters Frances Francis, Swann Broocke, Ann (Wayne) Davis, Carolyn (Jerry) Arnsberger; and brothers McCoy (Dorothy), Emerson (Shirley), Earl (Cecilia), Wayne (Barbara).

Raymond served a four-year tour in the Air Force. He worked for the National Weather Service as a meteorologist for 36 years.

The Celebration of Life service took place at 1 p.m. Monday, May 12 at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Nashville, Tennessee, followed by interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
