FRANKLIN—Mrs. Barbara B. Reid of Bracey Street, passed away on May 5, 2014, in her home.

She was born on Oct. 19, 1945, in Franklin to William “Buddy” and Mary G. Britt.

Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the Intercessory Prayer Team, member of the Mass Choir, Drama Ministry, and she was employed as the church secretary.

Barbara graduated from Hayden High School in 1965.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James “Peter” Reid; one son, Antonio “Mark” Reid; and one brother, William M. Britt.

Her precious memory will be treasured by one son, Claver N. “Tali” Reid; brothers, Náeem Q. Bashir, Robert M. Britt (Gloria) and Michael Britt; one grandson, Dontae Ford; nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives.

The homegoing celebration will take place at noon on Saturday, May 10, in First Baptist Church, 318 Hall St., Franklin, with the pastor, the Rev. D.S. Riddick Jr., delivering the eulogy.

The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery.

A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by William M. Johnson and Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
