SUFFOLK—Mrs. Carolyn Perkins Phillips of 1982 Hosier Road passed away peacefully on Monday morning, May 5, 2014.
She was born in Suffolk to the late Dorothy and James A. Perkins, and preceded in death by her sister Angela Perkins and her brother, James A Perkins Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 38 years, Charles Phillips; three loving daughters, Crystal Phillips of Suffolk, Cherri Phillips (Steffanie) of Fredericksburg, and Charmaine Harding (Sampson) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; a sister, Jackie White (Edward) of Hampton; a devoted and loving caretaker, Carolyn B. Williams; a loving and devoted cousin, Almeta B. Smith; two grandchildren; and two caretakers, Lenora Jones and Carolyn Williams.
She retired from the Franklin City and Hertford County public school systems.
There will be a Delta Omega Omega Service on Friday at 6:30 p.m., and a family visitation from 7-8 p.m. in Metropolitan Baptist Church, 125 County St.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place at noon on Saturday, May 10, in the church. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
