Elizabeth Epps Uzzle passed away at the age of 91 on March 9, 2014, in Jacksonville, Fla.

She was born in Ivor, Va., on Sept. 27, 1922. She graduated from Dendron High School. She then worked for A.E.S. Stephens of Smithfield and later for a Richmond law firm.

In 1947, Elizabeth married Frederick Booth Uzzle, a Richmond television reporter. Elizabeth and her husband lived in Arkansas City, Kan.; Raleigh, N.C.; Brunswick, Ga.; and Jacksonville.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her her husband; her parents, Ogie Felts Epps and Joseph Carroll Epps Sr.; and two sisters, Clarice Epps Rollings of Surry and Eleanor Epps Cornwell of Ivor.

She is survived by her children, Martha Jo Ann Bagley of Eagle Lake, Texas, and Ted Carlyle Uzzle of Chicago, Ill. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Jon Kathreen Newman on St. Augustine, Fla., and great-granddaughter, Felicia Nicole Newman, also of St. Augustine; two sisters, Roselyn Epps Moxley of Smithfield, Nancy Epps Bunn and her husband, Charles, of Newsoms; and a brother, Joseph Carroll Epps Jr., and his wife, Carolyn, of Wakefield.

Memorial services took place in Jacksonville, and at Ivor United Methodist Church. Burial was in Baptist Church Cemetery, Smithfield.

The family is being served in Virginia by R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home Wakefield Chapel.
