Southampton Indians beat Greensville Eagles behind Warren’s no-hitter

COURTLAND—The Indians of Southampton High defeated the Greensville County High School Eagles 17-0 Tuesday.
Freshman Nash Warren threw a no-hitter and recorded 12 of 15 outs via the strikeout.
This marks Warren’s first pitching win of his varsity career at Southampton. James Williams led the offense in the second inning with a big two-out double to left centerfield that plated three runners. Williams ended up two for three at the plate with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
The Indians were able to score 12 runs in the fourth inning. Southampton drew seven walks and hit safely five times in the inning. Brandon Knight and Warren each had two hits a piece, while Hayden Spalding, Tanner Winters and Dylan Beale each had one hit.
The Indians had eight hits with no errors and the Eagles committed three errors on the day.
Southampton is 2-0 and will have home games Monday, Tuesday and Thursday versus the Colonials of Colonial Heights, the Bulldogs of Brunswick and the Dragons of Park View.
