ESTELLA, Pa.—Mrs. Myrtle Dolores Zaner, 85, of Marsh Street, Wyalusing, passed away on Saturday afternoon of March 8, 2014, at DarWay Elder Care, in Estella, Pa.

Dolores Zaner photo webDolores, as she was known, was born in Danville, Va., on Jan. 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Andrew Cabel and Catherine Schott Snead. Dolores was the wife of the late Earl H. McLane Jr., who passed away on Oct. 11, 1973, and the current wife of William L. Zaner Sr.

Dolores was a graduate of the Danville Virginia High School, class of 1947. For many years, she worked as a bank teller.

While living in the Wyalusing area, Dolores attended the Wyalusing United Methodist Church, and was a past member of the Wyalusing American Legion Auxillary Post No. 534.

Dolores always enjoyed spending time with her extended Zaner family, at their family picnics and holiday get-togethers.

Surviving is her husband, Bill Zaner Sr., of Wyalusing; her two daughters, Kathy and Paul Mahoney, of Indianapolis, Ind., and Cheryl and Robert Bland of Weldon, N.C.; her son, Tommy and Gloria McLane, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; as well as her seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother, Robert and Shirley Snead, of Blackwater, Va., and several nieces and nephews.

As abiding with Dolores’ wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral.

The memorial service will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Franklin, Va.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial donations to the Wyalusing United Methodist Church, 77 Church St., Wyalusing, PA. 18853.
