Elliott L. Story

ZUNI—Elliott Linzy “Tink” Story, 84, passed away on March 8, 2014.
Mr. Story was a native of Southampton County, a son of the late John Otis and Nancy Harcum Story. He was predeceased by a daughter, Valerie S. Morris, and a sister, Inez S. Worrell.
He had retired from Union Camp Corporation after 40 years of service, and was a member and deacon of Black Creek Baptist Church. He was a Army veteran of the Korean War and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Story was a honorary member of Black Creek Hunt Club.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Avis Lowe Story; one daughter, Wilma Powell, and husband, Norris; one son, Douglas Story, and his wife, Pam; a son-in-law, Allan Morris; one sister, Shirley Ross; one brother, Reuben Story, nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Kitts officiating. The interment with military honors will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence and following the service at the Fellowship Hall of the church.
