CARRSVILLE—Thomas Watson Smithson Sr., 57, died on Feb. 8, 2014.

Mr. Smithson was a long-distance truck driver.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Diane Craddock; daughter, Misty Sutton, and husband, John, of Windsor, Va.; three sons, Michael Smithson of Oklahoma City, Okla., Thomas Smithson Jr. of Sandbridge, Va., and Clint Smithson of Canton, Ga.; one step-son, Curtis Hoggard Sr. of Franklin; one sister, Senea Brooks of Chesapeake; three brothers, David Smithson of Alvin, Texas, Vernon Smithson and Charles Smithson, both of Ahoskie, N.C.; 27 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his mother, Fannie Tabor of Norfolk.

Services will be private.

Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
