FRANKLIN—Darrow Lee “Dick” Vick, 89, passed away on Feb. 10, 2014 at his home. He was born in Boykins, Va., a son of the late Herbert E. and Bertha Fuller Vick, and was predeceased by two brothers, Milton “Shorty” Vick and Herbert E. Vick, Jr., and two sisters, Evelyn Davis and Carolyn Pollard.

Dick was a former resident of Richmond, and had retired from McLean Trucking Company. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Fortune Vick; one sister, Virginia Icard of Georgia; and a brother, Carroll Vick, and his wife, Joyce, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. James H. Hyatt Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, and suggest memorials be made to a favorite charity.
