Frivolous focus by DOJ on the wrong issues

To the Editor:

The Dept. of Justice (DOJ) wastes time and resources on a traffic jam in New Jersey. DUH!

Meanwhile, DOJ has turned a blind eye on major federal issues: the IRS scandal, Benghazi, Fast & Furious, etc., to name but a few. Something is very wrong with this picture.

Referring to an article by Peggy Noonan in today’s (2-7-2014) Wall Street Journal, the Metcalf incident near San Jose, Calif., (http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702304680904579365412479185116) took down a station in what was more than likely a terrorist plot.

The attack destroyed the cooling capabilities, which led to several transformers exploding. The site was under rifle attack for almost a half an hour. It would take almost a month to repair the damages.

Where is a Federal DOJ interest in bringing the perpetrators to justice? That effort is at best, very weak. It happened once; it can very well happen again, on a much larger scale. We have all experienced electrical blackouts. Consider an attack that takes down the entire electrical grid. It could very well happen.

Forget traffic jams, DOJ; do your job. Protect the nation.
