FRANKLIN—Ralph Ross, 81, died surrounded by his loving family on Feb. 3, 2014, following a brief courageous battle of cancer.

He will be remembered as a gentleman, dedicated husband, loving father and doting grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Georgia Ross, four sisters and his brother.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 61 beautiful years, Beatrice Benson Ross; his lovely daughters, Sue Martin and husband, Ed; Wanda Carrier and husband, Lenny; Kathy Gideon and husband, Vijay; David Kloster (Annette); five adoring grandchildren, Michael Kloster (Cheryl), Davey White (Brooks), Greg Kloster (Jennifer), Amanda Munford (Junior), Timothy Irby (Priya); six great-grandchildren, Ciara Chaisson (Mark), Cody Kloster, Hanna Kloster, Claire White, Winston White, Tripp Munford; step great-grandson, James Carrier; one great-great grandchild, Bentley Chaisson; one sister, Evonne Gaines (John); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ralph was a longtime member, deacon and an usher of Franklin Baptist Church. He had served as president of the Kiwanis Club. He was the owner of Ideal Barber Shop and proudly served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. Ralph grew up in Alabama and was a huge “’Bama” fan.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 5, in Wright Funeral Home, 206 W. Fourth Avenue, Franklin. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Kimlick and the Rev. Howard Vinson officiating. Naval honors will be accorded at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
