WINDSOR—On Monday evening, the Windsor Dukes lost 102-37 to the Bruton Panthers out of Williamsburg.
“Bruton showed why they are considered to be one of the top teams in the state last night — they shot 64 percent from the 3-point line,” head coach Brandon Bossick said of the Panthers, who are 10-0 on the season. “The Dukes never quit and continued to play, however, the effective shooting and pressure defense of Bruton was just too much.”
Malcolm Greene had 12 points for Windsor in the effort, while Chris Funai on three 3-point baskets, had 11. Justice Chapman led the team in rebounds with 7.
On Friday night, Windsor lost to the Sussex Central Tigers 48-38.
“They outplayed us,” said Bossick. “We did not shoot well, and they won that game.”
Bossick said the tail of the tape was that while the Dukes did a good job taking it to the basket and getting fouls, they did not hit on their free throws. The Dukes hit 17 percent from the free throw line, while the Tigers shot 80 percent.
Windsor plays Appomattox Regional Governor’s School today.
