Jesse E. Drewery

FRANKLIN–Jesse Eldridge Drewery, 85, passed away January 12, 2014. He was born in Isle of Wight County February 14, 1928 to the late Arthur Leigh Drewery and Florence Howell Drewery. He was predeceased by five sisters, Louise Carr, Charlotte Marie Drewery, Mary Arthur Gavin, Florence Bland and Virginia Carr. Jesse was an Army veteran during the Korean War, was a retired Maintenance Department Planner with Hercules Corporation and was an active member of Hunterdale Christian Church where he had served as deacon, Sunday School superintendent and teacher. He was a former Boy Scout Assistant Scout Master and was a 50 year member of the Hunterdale Fire Department. Jesse enjoyed spending time with his family, loved to fish and enjoyed the waters and fun times with his fishing buddies.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Johnson Drewery. They were married April 20, 1954. Other survivors include two children, Beth Drewery Vincent and husband, Fred, and Gene Howell Drewery and wife, Paige; three grandchildren, William Dallas Drewery, Courtney Marie Drewery and Bryant John Vincent; a brother, Harry D. Drewery and nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Rita Kanten officiating. Burial will follow at Capron Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home and suggest that memorial donations be made to a favorite charity. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
