Cindy B. Peak

Cynthia Lynn “Cindy” Barham Peak 54, passed away surrounded by her loving family December 22, 2013 following a courageous battle with cancer. Cindy was born in the Portsmouth Naval Hospital and raised in Capron. She was a 1977 graduate of Southampton Academy and was graduated from Mary Washington College in 1981. Committed to her community, Cindy was one of the first organizers of the Franklin Relay for Life and was a longtime member of the Franklin Garden Club and the Franklin Beautification Committee. While she was a member of the Capron United Methodist Church since her childhood, she attended Franklin Baptist Church. Cindy was respected and admired for her boundless creative talents and imagination. Her original creations and exhibits of decor introduced beauty to any environment. Inspired by her love for her family and a refined visionary talent, she made her home a visual wonderland. Her passions extended into her gardens surrounding her home creating a bird and animal sanctuary of beauty and repose. Cindy was always capable of making the simple look elegant, and the elegant to be comfortable and inviting.
Cindy was predeceased by her father, Joe Nelson Barham.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 31 years, William Addison “Bill” Peak, Sr.; her two sons, Zachary Nelson Peak and William Addison Peak, Jr.; her mother Shirley Barham Mabe, all of Franklin; sister, Joanne Barham and her husband, Jack Bradshaw, of New York, NY; brother J. Daniel Barham and his wife, Susan, and their children, Olivia and Dashland, of Vestavia Hills, AL.; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel Keene Peak, Jr. and Lucy Eubank Peak and their children, Callie and Eliza; her beloved pets, Betty and Qui Qui Peak and countless friends.
A memorial celebration of Cindy’s life will be held 11am Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Franklin Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Kimlick officiating. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
