FRANKLIN—“The Best Christmas Tree Ever” turned out to be a forest of colors and lights. Beverly Myers of City Paint was awarded the first prize in the Downtown Franklin Association Christmas window-decorating contest. Her windows were filled with colorful trees, each decorated with different lights, ornaments, and garland. Her real cats curled up under the trees were a nice addition!

First place for “originality” went to Roberta and Kevin Bowman, managers of Floor to Ceiling. A scene was created in the lobby, including a Christmas tree covered with framed pictures of veterans from the Franklin area and decorated with red, white and blue. An antique typewriter holds a note to Santa asking that the veterans not be forgotten. A roaring fire in the fireplace with stockings hung completed the scene.

Winners were given a limited edition 2013 Fall Festival Basket filled with goodies from the DFA, Pam’s Tea Room and Franklin Art & Frameworks.

The DFA would like to thank all of the downtown business owners for the time and effort put into decorating for the Christmas season. We encourage you to visit downtown, take a look at all the colorful lights and beautiful decorations.
