DURHAM, NC – Harry Adams Pickett, 89, of Durham, NC passed away on December 11, 2013, in Matthews, North Carolina at Carrington Place. Harry was born and educated in Durham County. He was preceded in death by Dorothy (Dot) Dennis Pickett, his loving wife of more than 60 years. Together they owned and operated Pickett’s Catering Company for many years. He was an active member of Yates Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is a son Wayne Pickett and wife Carolyn of Valrico, FL; daughters Phyllis Medlin and husband Mike of Monroe, NC and Annette Williams and husband Ronnie of Franklin, VA; grandchildren Jonathan Pickett, Michael Pickett (Stacey), Matthew Medlin (Terilynn), Mark Medlin, Bryan Medlin (Brenda), Shannon Medlin, Martha Marks, and Edward Marks; great grandchildren Jordyn, Riley, Kennedy Pickett; Brooke, Bailey, Codi, Sam, Allie Jo and Ava Marie Medlin; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive visitors Monday, December 16, between 1 – 2 p.m. prior to a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Yates Baptist Church.

Officiating will be Rev. John Frederick. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
