COURTLAND—The seasonal fun continues with the Virginia Symphony performing its Holiday Pops concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in the Southampton High School auditorium in Courtland.

Admission is free, thanks to the generosity of the Camp Foundation. The orchestra and chorus’s appearance is presented by the Franklin-Southampton Concert Association.

Robert Shoup, who for several years led the Virginia Chorale, will be the guest conductor for the Thursday show. Amanda Batcher is scheduled as the lead vocalist. The Virginia Symphony Chorus and the Virginia Children’s Chorus are also slated to sing.

Among the many selections will be a suite from “The Nutcracker,” “Babes in Toyland/March of the Toys,” “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “Believe” from the movie, “The Polar Express” and “O Holy Night.”
