FRANKLIN—The good news is the downtown Franklin holiday event is a go for 7 p.m. today, Dec. 6, said Dan Howe, executive director of the Downtown Franklin Association. The parade lineup starts at 5:30 p.m. There’s a designated area in front of the farmer’s market for the elderly and handicapped to view the parade. Also, for safety and space reasons, all residents are asked to keep their vehicles off of Main Street from 5 p.m. until after the event.

The bad news is the Capron Christmas parade, scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, has been cancelled, said Deborah Starke on Thursday afternoon. However, she added, that Santa Claus will ride on a fire truck on Main Street at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.

Phil Bradshaw also called Thursday to say the Carrsville holiday parade, originally for 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15.

Windsor has already planned for a 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 rain date; the town’s parade is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.

As yet, no word on decisions about the other parades.
