FRANKLIN—Mrs. Lennie Everett Scott of Cobb Road, Franklin, Va., was granted peace and rest on Nov. 23, 2013, while a patient in East Pavilion Nursing Center. Her spirit now joins her beloved husband, Johnnie B. Scott, who passed on March 23, 2012. The Southampton County native was born on Oct. 21, 1926, to Samuel and Isabel M. Everett.

She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church, and graduated from the public school system in Southampton County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one daughter, Anita Denise Scott.

She is survived by four children, Iola Hybrenda Scott Lamison of Sedley, Va.; Michael Bridges Scott (Sarah) of Chester, Va.; Alexis Darlene Scott Christian of Washington, D.C.; and Johnnie Bernstein Scott (Viola) of Franklin, Va.; siblings, Mable Everett and Floyd Everett, both of Franklin, Va.; grandchildren, Steven Brad Barnes, Sonya Scott, Chante Scott Brinson, Jovan Scott, Nicole Scott, James M. Christian Jr. (Chris), Jamexis Christian, and Gregory Scott; nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

The homegoing service will be held Friday, Nov. 29. 2013, at 1 p.m. in Galilee Baptist Church, 15688 Old Branchville Road, Branchville, Va., with the pastor, the Rev. Willie L. Diggs, delivering the eulogy. The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery. A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Inc., 224 S. Main Street, Franklin, Va.
