To the Editor:

As most people in our community know, a major focus of our Paul D. Camp Community College Division of Workforce Development is to provide training and education opportunities to develop our citizens for employment.  We also support other organizations that share the same mission such as our local Workforce Investment Board, Opportunity Inc.  We provide Opportunity Inc with office space in our Regional Workforce Development Center.  We are grateful for Opportunity Inc’s critical role in our community, especially evident during the recent economic downturn when many citizens utilized Opportunity Inc’s services to retool for new jobs in our changing economy.

While we take credit for many training and development initiatives, Kingdom Cuts Cosmetology School is an Opportunity Inc training vendor.  Opportunity Inc is involved in funding students’ tuition for this school that will be located in Downtown Franklin.  Neither Paul D. Camp Community College nor the College’s Division of Workforce Development is sponsoring the new cosmetology program.  We commend Opportunity Inc’s support of the new Kingdom Cuts Cosmetology School and will do our part to support their success.
