To the Editor:

The Isle of Wight County Schools Food Services Department would like to say a big “THANK YOU” to Smithfield Foods Inc. for providing the use of one of their freezer trucks. We recently experienced issues with the walk-in freezer at Windsor High School, and it became apparent that obtaining the needed parts and correcting the failure would take over a week, so we contacted Smithfield Foods to inquire if we could borrow one of their freezer trucks.

Without hesitation, Smithfield Foods graciously provided this valued resource and delivered the freezer to the school to provide a temporary replacement.

We are very fortunate to have a company such as Smithfield Foods in Isle of Wight County that is supportive of our local schools.

To Smithfield Foods – thanks for making a difference in our community and for your support in our children’s education!
