Sad, isn’t it, when grown men think they need to stoop to conquer?

We are, of course, talking about Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Ken Cuccinelli and their nasty campaigns to become the next governor of Virginia.

Remember when candidates behaved as gentlemen? We do, and that’s why their behavior makes it difficult for us to convince you to go and vote anyway on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Like you, we’ll be holding our noses at the polling places when it comes to casting a ballot for governor.

If it’s any consolation, though, most all of other candidates in Western Tidewater have behaved admirably.

So, while it pains us to say it, the chance to have a say in how the region and state will be governed for the next several years is fast approaching. Don’t waste it.
