FRANKLIN—After reviewing more than 300 entries, The Tidewater News staff is pleased to announce this year’s winners.

Cassandra Albert’s photo of her daughter, Samantha, jumping into a pool, was chosen to be the cover picture. Albert, who used a GoPro camera, will win $250.

Linda Gavin’s photo of a butterfly landing on a Zinnia was chosen for the publisher’s letter page.

Amy Thomas’s photo of her son, Cody, being dragged in the snow was chosen for January 2014.

Sue Perna’s Valentine’s Day photo was chosen for February 2014.

Melissa Cornwell’s photo of her sons, Christopher and Tristan, by an old wagon wheel was chosen for March 2014.

For April 2014, Karla Stevens Cobb’s photo with her father was chosen.

For May 2014, Karla Stevens Cobb’s photo of Cole and Bryson Goodman fishing was chosen.

For September 2014, Gavin Carter’s photo of Kaydence Carter, 6, and Merrick Keosayang, 8, getting off the school bus was chosen.

Patricia Davis’s photo of her son, Ben, waiting to show his goats at the livestock show was chosen for October 2014.

For November 2014, Holly Ledbetter’s photo of her daughter Makenzie helping pick out pumpkins at Grayson and Emma’s Garden spot is the winner.

Patricia Davis’s photo of her daughters, Ellen and Grace, wearing Santa hats in a peanut trailer is the winner for December 2014.

For January 2015, Carrie Fox’s photo of her daughters playing in the snow was chosen.
