Southampton Academy will take on Rocky Mount Academy

This will be a homecoming battle for the Southampton Academy Raiders, as they go against the Eagles of Rocky Mount Academy. Practice has been pretty good, said head coach Dale Marks, and the players are ready to go.

“They’re definitely a run first team. They run a eight-man version of the Wing T offense, with a lot of deception,” said Marks, speaking on the Eagles. “We’ll have our work cut out for us.”

Kick-off is at 7:30 p.m. The Raiders are a perfect 7-0, while the Eagles are 6-1.

Indians to host the Cougars

The Indians of Southampton High School will be taking on the Surry County Cougars in Courtland for their Homecoming game. “The Cougars are an experienced football team,” said Coach Willie Gillus. “They like to throw the ball quite a bit, and we need to shut that down.”

The Indians will be riding the wave of last week’s win into this game. The Indians are 1-5, while the Cougars are 4-2. Kick off is at 7 p.m.

The Broncos make their way to Sussex

The Franklin Broncos will be in the Sussex Central Tigers’ backyard for this game.

Neither of the coaches have been able to be reached at the time of this release. Franklin, at 5-1, is coming off the year’s first loss, while the Tigers are likewise 5-1, coming off the year’s first loss to Park View. The game begins approximately at 7 p.m.

Windsor Dukes will be in Greensville

The Dukes will travel to Greensville to go heads up with the Eagles. This will be the Eagles Homecoming, so the stadium will be packed. The Dukes have had a good week of practice, said coach Chuck Parrish.

“They are very athletic,” said Parrish, speaking of Greensville. “Their quarterback is mobile, and they have a big fullback. Plus, it’s their Homecoming, so I know they’re ready to play against us.”

Windsor is 1-5, while Greensville is 0-6.

The Chargers of Isle of Wight to go against Blessed Sacrament – Huguenot

The Isle of Wight Chargers will take on the Blessed Sacrament – Huguenot Knights in the Chargers’ field. The Chargers are 4-3, and the Knights are 6-1.
