FRANKLIN—Corey Porter scored the only touchdown for the Franklin Broncos, as the Brunswick Bulldogs knocked the Broncos from the unbeaten category with a score of 28-6 Friday night at Armory Park football stadium.

The Bulldogs rushed for 313 yards with 189 of them belonging to their quarterback Owens Darren.

The Broncos ground gain was 260 yards with Marcus Stephens leading with 109 yards.

The Bulldogs took control of the game on their first possession and scored on an 11 yard run by Jamari Stith. Darren Rays added the extra point for an early first quarter led of 7-0.

The Broncos Porter 20 yard touchdown run came in the second quarter, but the Angel Padilla extra point attempt failed because of a bad snap from center.

The Bulldogs added 6 more points in the second quarter following a 25 yard touchdown pass from Owens to Jamari Stith. The Rays extra point kick was good to put the visitors up 14-6, a score that held until the end of the half.

The Bulldogs advanced the score to 21-6 in the fourth quarter on a 5 yard run by Jakai Williams and the Ray kick for the extra point.

Down 21-6 in the fourth quarter, the Broncos in trying to keep their comeback attempt alive drove in striking distance to the goal but failed on a fourth down touchdown pass attempt with 4:20 minutes remaining in the game.

The Bulldogs last touchdown came on a 73 yard run by Owens, followed by the Ray kick.

Alison Cromwell led the Broncos in tackles with 7 followed by Corey Porter with 5 tackles.

The Broncos, now 5-1, will be on the road next week to take on the Sussex Central Tigers.
