Search continues for child abductor

ISLE OF WIGHT—The Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office has expanded its search for a man said to have abducted and sexually assaulted an 11-year-old Carrollton girl on Wednesday.
The Suffolk News-Herald reported Thursday that Sheriff Mark Marshall said the victim reported the suspect stopped to talk to a Suffolk trash collector in the vicinity of Longstreet Lane and Quaker Drive, which in the Holland Borough of the city.
The suspect, described by the girl as a white male, possibly in his 40s to 50s, forcibly took her from a school bus stop around 8 a.m. and drove her to two different places where he sexually assaulted her. She was later returned to the area where taken. Then she called her parents who contacted emergency services at approximately 12:30 p.m. The victim was taken to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters for examination.
The suspect is described as a white male, possibly in his 40s to 50s, with freckles covering his face and body. He has a medium build of about 5’8” and weighs 175 pounds. He has short blond hair and a thin blond beard strip from his temples down across the chin, but no moustache. His eyebrows are blond and bushy.
He has blue eyes, and sometimes wears round brown eyeglasses. He has a wide nose and large, full lips. His teeth are slightly yellowed.
The man was described wearing cut-off blue jeans, a tan T-shirt, and brown and blue tennis shoes.
He’s said to be slower in his speech.
The vehicle is described as a white two-door Chevy with automatic transmission. There’s a Chevy sticker across the windshield.
The interior was black and gray, but not cloth. The windows were rolled by hand. The dashboard was cracked with pieces missing.
Inside were three homemade clay sculptures that appeared to have been made by children. One object was star-shaped and painted with black stripes. The others have no distinct shapes and were green and pink in color.
