FRANKLIN—The Live United first 5K Race for Franklin-Southampton Area United Way was a fun day for the 65 participants.

“Congratulations to all the winners,” said director Anne Bryant. “It was an awesome job by everyone. Many thanks to our Premier sponsor Bronco Federal Credit Union, Gold Sponsor Infrastructure Corporation of America and Silver Sponsor Second Chances Youth Services.”

The United Way had many volunteers help put the event on, including the Franklin-Southampton Area United Way board members, YMCA Young Leaders Club and Franklin High School SGA. Spivey Rentals supplied race course drawings and support. Tonya Skinner provided pre-race Zumba to the music of DJ Wayne Cook. Belk, Hibbetts, Applebees and Food Lion donated supplies and give-aways.

Bryant said she was grateful to the Franklin Police Department for race day safety and Running Kids for race timing and medals.

All proceeds will go to support local United Way agencies.
