VIRGINIA BEACH-Ritchie Vernon Scott, Jr., 51, retired City of Norfolk Firefighter, passed away September 27, 2013 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Ritchie was born in Methuen, MA and reared in Franklin, VA. He was a graduate of Franklin High School and had an Associate Degree in Fire Science from Tidewater Community College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Administration from Hampton University.

Survivors include his parents, Ritchie and Rosemary Scott; sister, Beth S. Keffer all of Franklin; brother, Tim W. Scott and wife, Priscilla, of Virginia Beach; nephews, Jonathan Scott and Billy Keffer; nieces, Courtney, Jenna and Dara Keffer and special aunt and uncle, Joanne and Ted McCraw of Metheun, MA.

A private graveside service will be held at the family plot in Franklin. The family will receive friends Sunday (today) at Wright Funeral Home, 206 W. 4th Ave., Franklin, VA from 7 to 8:30 pm and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorials in Ritchie’s name be made to the American Heart Association.
