Southampton High School band wins awards

COURTLAND—The Marching Indians of Southampton High School won six trophies last Saturday at the Greensville Classic Competition.
Led by captains Shannon Hawkins and Shakira Artis, the flags placed second.
Percussion also placed second. Charles “CT” Branch and Brandon Clarke are section leaders. Dancers placed second, and the captains are Britney Johnson and Brianna Whitfield.
Vincente Jarrette, drum major, placed second, along with the band’s second place in music.
The majorettes earned first place, and the captains are Melia Hill, Kristan Lane and Terri Evans.
