COURTLAND – Lula V. Worrell, 75, of Courtland, Virginia departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at MCV Hospital, Richmond, VA.

Lula, affectionately known as, ‘Mistess’, was born November 10, 1937 in Southampton County, Virginia to the parentage of the late Guy Franklin and Viola Rogers Claud.

Survivors Include: one daughter, Viola Worrell of Courtland, VA ; two son, James S. Worrell (Sandy) of Bayshore, Long Island, NY and Joseph A. Worrell (Selena) of Harlem, NY; one sister, Gewendolyn Gurley (Thea) of Bronx, NY; four brothers, Obadiah Claud (Mertle) of Wendell, NC, Israel Claud (Carrie) of Suffolk, VA, Oliver Claud of Philadelphia, PA and James Claud (Pearl) of Portsmouth, VA; 14 grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Malachia Barnes of Branchville, VA a host of other relatives and friends.

Homegoing services, honoring her life, love and spirit will commence at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2013 at the J. W. Faison Memorial Chapel of Faison’s Funeral Home, Seaboard, North Carolina with Re. Guy Barnes, officiating.

Faison’s Funeral Home, Inc. in Seaboard, NC has been entrusted with the arrangements, where a viewing will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 22 and on Monday, September 23 from 9 to 11 a.m.
