Belvie J. Hendricks

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Belvie J. Hendricks of Brooklyn, N.Y., quietly closed her eyes and entered into a peaceful rest on Wednesday, September 11, 2013.
Born in Franklin, Virginia on April 13, 1948 she was the-eighth child of Macy Everett-Hendricks, Sr. and Emily Hall Hendricks. She was predeceased by both parents.
Belvie joined and spent her youthful years as a member of Hickory Grove African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church of Franklin, VA. She served as a Sunday school teacher and was also a member of the youth choir.
Belvie received her education from the Franklin school system. She was a 1966 graduate of Hayden High School. While there she played basketball under the leadership of the late Peggy Wilkins. After graduation, she moved to New Jersey and later to Brooklyn, New York where she secured employment on Wall Street at various brokerage firms. She retired from UBS Investment Bank in 2004 as an assistant vice president of securities.
Forever cherishing her memory, she leaves a loving daughter, Desiree A. Hendricks, a grandson, Rishawd Hendricks, a granddaughter, Shaniece Miles, three sisters Geraldine Cox, Marie Sykes, Sandra H. Hunter; five brothers, Macy E. Hendricks, Jr., William Hendricks, Daniel Hendricks, Mitchell Hendricks, James Hendricks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 in Brooklyn, NY.
