FRANKLIN—While a Wynnwood Drive homeowner was away Tuesday, four burglars broke into the home at approximately noon through a back entrance.

Alert neighbors observed the suspicious people go behind the house, and hearing glass break, they alerted officers. Police responded at 12:11 p.m. and caught two suspects who fled a house on Homestead Road. The other two suspects are still at large.

Investigators were able to link the apprehended suspects to three other burglaries that were committed Monday night at the Elm’s Foundation on Clay Street, the Parker and Crumpler Law Office on North Main Street and a residence on the 700 block of Clay Street.

Joseph Orlando Foster, 18, 517 W. Second Ave., Franklin, was charged with four counts of burglary, four counts of destruction of property and one count possession of burglary tools.

A 17-year-old male juvenile of the 500 Block of Laurel Street, Franklin, was also arrested and charged with two counts of burglary.

The juvenile offender was remanded to Tidewater Detention Center; Foster was taken to Western Tidewater Regional Jail on $5,000 secured bond.

Officers were able to determine that the suspects broke out the glass in a rear door and entered the house, ransacking several rooms.
