FRANKLIN – Mr. “King” David Fulton of 801 Gardner St. passed on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at East Pavilion Nursing Home surrounded by his loving and dedicated family. He was born on November 9, 1930 to Sallie Murphy Fulton and Walter Fulton in Kingstree, S.C. and was the youngest of seven children.
They have all preceded him in death, but he is surely celebrating with them now. He was most known as the Principal for Southwestern High and Middle Schools, John F. Kennedy High School (Assistant Principal), and Forest Glen High School (principal) and retired in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Etha Mae Fulton (of 62 years), three daughters—Patricia Fulton Hunter (Robert), Sandra J. Fulton Picot, and Erika M. Fulton Holmes. Also he leaves behind seven grandchildren, three great grands, and a host of cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
A wake will be held on Friday, September 19, 2013 at William M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 224 South Main Street from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21 at 11:00 AM at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1071 Carrsville, Hwy. Franklin, VA 23851. Reverend Alfred D. Brown, Sr. is the Pastor and Reverend D.A. Manley will officiate the service. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.wmjohnsonandsons.com.
