Franklin – Mrs. Beatrice Lee Scott of Artis Street, Franklin, VA entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2013, while a patient in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Beatrice was born October 21, 1938 in Isle of Wight County, VA to Lonnie Artis and Lizzie Mae Fiers. For many years, Beatrice was employed as a Private Duty Nurse and she was a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Turner Lee Scott, three children and a devoted son-in-law. She is survived by daughters, Brenda Mayfield, Joyce Clemons (Kenny), Carla Sumblin (Edward), all of Franklin, VA, Janet Scott of Suffolk, VA; one son, Carl Scott of Franklin, VA; one sister, Ella Mae Mitchell of New Brunswick, NJ; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

A homegoing service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 416 Stonewall Street, Franklin, VA, with the pastor, Bishop D. Stefán Adams, Sr. delivering the message of comfort. The committal and benediction will be in Southview Cemetery. On the day of service, her remains will rest in church for viewing by 10:30 AM. A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 224 South Main Street, Franklin, VA.
