FRANKLIN—Two male suspects were reportedly arguing Monday night in the parking lot of the A section at the Dorchester Square Apartments, when they opened fire on each other, according to the Franklin Police Department report.

Officers responded at 9:08 p.m., and on arrival there were no suspects present, but officers found gun cartridge casings on the ground. Police then checked the surrounding apartments to make sure none had been struck by the bullets, and to check on the residents’ welfare.

While investigating, a vehicle not connected to the suspects had been struck by bullets three times. These were recovered from the vehicle.

A witness told police that a crowd had formed around the A section, while the two suspects were still fighting. After the shots were fired, the witness said one suspect ran between the J section apartments into the woods.
