Janet Joyner, one of the organizers, said that the event was wonderful.

“It had a great turnout and everything went smoothly,” Joyner said. “I am sad that it was over.

“Everyone we talked to, we got great feedback about the event. Everyone loved it.”

The girls also raised money — a total of $5,500, with Haley Yeary, who was in the Little category, raising the most. Yeary’s parents are Michael and Ashley Yeary.

“They did a great job,” Joyner said. “It was more than what I could have ever dreamed of. The money will help us start a scholarship next year for the winners.”
