FRANKLIN – Mr. Lorenzo W. Artis of Delaware Road, Franklin, VA departed this earthly life on August 14, 2013, while a patient in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk, VA. The Sussex County, Virginia native was born March 14,1944 to the late Woodrow W. and Hattie H. Artis. During his youth, he was a member of Union Hill United Church of Christ.

He is survived by one daughter, Gail Blow; two sisters, Lois Artis, Hattie Moore; two brothers, Willie Artis and Curtis Artis, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A homegoing service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2013, Union Hill United Church of Christ, 16192 Union Hill Road Sedley, VA. The pastor, Reverend Roy Stokes will deliver the message of comfort. The committal and benediction will be in Butts Cemetery. A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M.
