COURTLAND—On July 28, 2013, Southampton High School Cosmetology students, along with Rita Yeary and Will Melby traveled to Alexandria to compete in the National Beauty Culturists League’s Cosmetology National competition. Rita Yeary said, “I am proud of the work that my students have put in to their education. I know first hand that they have been practicing on their models before school let out. They have constantly been preparing and I was confident they would all come home winners. Their enthusiasm and hard work shined throughout the whole competition. No one could be prouder than me when someone says, “I wonder where that student is from” and then say “They must be from Southampton.” It makes me so proud and I am thankful for the amazing parents I have helping me, that is what makes these students successful. So many people work together to pull this off and I am so grateful. ”
