COURTLAND—Weeks before the Franklin-Southampton County Fair talent show is set to begin, 15 of the acts took to the fairgrounds Wednesday evening to show off their talent.
“This year’s crop is one of the best we have had in a long time,” said talent show organizer Cecil Edwards. “I encourage everyone to come out. You will get a good show.”
The talent show is set for August 15 at 7 p.m.
There are three categories, junior, which is up to 12, youth, which is 12 to 18, and adults, which is 18 and up. There will be awards for first place, second place and crowd favorite.
Acts include singing, playing the guitar and dancing.
“I have been playing in bands for 36 years, and I really have a passion for music,” said Edwards. “I love to see the new kids coming up. It is the youth that is going to keep music around.”
