T. Cecil Tillery

Sedley—Thomas Cecil Tillery, 92, passed away July 10, 2013. Born in Kelford, N.C., he was a son of the late Linwood David and Lessie Taylor Tillery. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was retired from Union Camp Corporation after 43 years of service. A longtime member of Sedley Baptist Church, he was a former trustee and deacon. He was a member of the Courtland Masonic Lodge.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Oretha “Rita” Owen Tillery; three daughters, Rita Rose and husband, Dick, of Hunterdale, Debi Bradshaw and husband, Howard, of Carrsville and Susan Tillery and husband, Jesse, of Raleigh, NC; sister, Lessie T. Edwards of Franklin; three grandsons, Joey Rose and wife, Desiree, Brandol Bradshaw and wife, Emily, Sumner Bradshaw and wife, Sonja; four great-grandchildren, JW Rose, David Rose, Carly Bradshaw and Everett Bradshaw. He was predeceased by three brothers, Henry, Julian and Hubert Tillery and five sisters, Marie Hancock, Bea Halsey, Beverly Johnson, Kitty Daughtrey and Elleise Hancock.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Jim Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-7:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to the Sedley Volunteer Fire Department or Sedley Baptist Church. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
