FRANKLIN—A Franklin man has been arrested this morning in connection with a home invasion assault that occurred on Dewey Street on March 5, said Major Gene Drewery, spokesman for the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office.

De’Andre Artis, a 19-year-old who is also wanted in Franklin, is charged with burglary with intent to commit a felony, assault, brandishing a firearm and using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

During this incident in March, two women were assaulted and shots were fired into their car.

The arrest was made at Southampton Meadows following a crime line tip.
