The Tidewater News appoints new managing editor

Franklin—The Tidewater News announced the hiring of its new managing editor, Cain Madden. In addition to freelance work for The Natchez (MS) Democrat, Madden had spent the past two years working for various publications at the University of Mississippi, including a year as editor-in-chief of the university newspaper. He had previously been a staff reporter for The Democrat.

“I am excited to be here, and I look forward to getting involved in the community,” Madden said. “I love community journalism — I wrote my honor’s college thesis on it.”

Associate publisher Tony Clark said, “We are pleased to have someone of Cain’s ability come on board. His background in and passion for community newspapers, as well as his thorough understanding of the various electronic mediums we operate in, make him an ideal fit for this role. I expect big things from him and I know he’s up to the task.”
